Track 1 - Retribution MineEnraged - Weslaco, Tx
Often referred to as a Heavy Metal Machine Trio, this band first formed in late 2001. In 2002, the trio released their first effort titled, "South Texas Metal Ep". The song "South Texas Dirt", went on to climb the IUMA charts, topping #45 worldwide in the metal genre. The band managed to sell out of their first release, as well as caught the attention of a small record labeled, "Status Records" out of LA. The band decided to passed on the distribution deal the label offered, but has since moved on to began writing/recording new material for their yet released 2nd effort. This song in particular congers heavy groove, mixed with haunting, aggressive vocals.
Track 2 - Tye Dye Fire Chil'The Rabid Cadaver Dogs - McAllen, Tx
Formely known as "Exova/Xova", the band changed their name to The Rabid Cadaver Dogs in 2005. Under the name Exova, the band managed to top out #1 on SoundClicks Alternative Metal Charts. The band has been featured by local entertainment paper, "Weird Magazine", as well as had a broadcast interview on 1580 am; "Weird Radio." The song "Tye Dye Fire Chil", brings a blend of mixed genres into play. The song begans with an acoustic guitar, back by soulful vocals, before breaking into a faster tempo, to include grindcore in the latter parts of the song. This is a great representation of the rare BillyGrindCore genre folks.
Track 3 - Stomach for BloodSewn Shut - Corpus Christi, Tx
Formed in 1999, Sewn Shut is a four piece thrash outfit that hails out of Corpus Christi. Sewn Shut has released 2 demos; "The Battered in 2000, and the self titled "Sewn Shut", in 2002. The band has had the honor of sharing the stage with some national acts - such as Morbid Angel, Six Feet Under, M.O.D. and Mastodon, to just name a few. The band has also been fortunate of having their music played in several international radio stations; Brazil, England, France and Germany. Having been included in serveral compilations - Sewn Shut lends "Stomach for Blood" to the Lunatic audience; a song that is as brutal as its name.
Track 4 - ListenConfused - Edinburg, Tx
Since the mid 80s, this four piece band has been dishing out their brand of hardcore to the local South Texas music scene. The band has release several demos throughout their years, and has stapled their name in valley underground music history. During their earlier years, the band toured throughout Texas, and shared the stage with many, local Texas favorites. This song "Listen", is taken off their fourth coming "20th aniversary", collection of songs cd. The song is more in the crossover genre, blending, metal, punk and hardcore influences.
Track 5 - Deep UmbraOf Forsaken Divinity - Weslaco, Tx
Originaly known as "Divinity", the band first formed in 2000. With their name changing to "Of Forsaken Divinity", a couple of years later, came a more complex band, with many of their songs revolving around a storyline or theme. Mixing black, death, ambient, thrash, metal together, the band has managed to capture listeners from all around the world. One look at their myspace website and that becomes clearly evident. The song "Deep Umbra", was taken of their 2nd effort titled "Averse Empyrean", which was released in 2002. The Averse Empyrean cd, was recorded at Red Barn Studios in Mission, TX.
Track 6 - No Way OutTenet - San Antonio, Tx
Based in San Antonio, Texas - Tenet’s dream was to bring Rock back to the masses. With Keen on guitars and vocals, Cronix on drums, The Haunted Embryo on bass, and Screwy Louie on guitars and vocals the group focused on rock in its most primal form. The song “No Way Out” as with others was several years in the making. Having the drive, the song was recorded in late night sessions while drunk on creativity and Bud Light. However, the band was stricken with sudden loss when Cronix faced the ultimate battle with cancer and passed on to the other side in 2003. The flesh may die but the music lives on forever.
Track 7 - InhaleDiscard the Dead - Pharr, Tx
Heavy guitars backed by a pounding rhythm section, and summed up by vocals that just scream hardcore; Discard the Dead is just that - straight up hardcore. These Pharr, Tx natives had build a steady following by playing a numerous amounts of South Texas Shows. The track, "Inhale", is taken off their first demo, with the overall all mix, being remastered. With already a second demo released in just a years period of time, Discard the Dead have proven to the South Texas Underground that they are a real force to reckon with.
Track 8 - DisgraceKillamora - Corpus Christi, Tx
Formed in the latter part of 2002, Killamora is based out of Corpus Christi, Texas. In their rise from the ashes, Killamora has managed to open up for national acts like: Ill NINO, FLAW, 40 BELOW SUMMER, DEICIDE, GOATWHORE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, BIG IRON, DRI, M.O.D, BEYOND ALL REASON, THINE EYES BLEED, AGNOSTIC FRONT, ALL SHALL PERISH, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, JACKNIFE, IT DIES TODAY, BURY YOUR DEAD, LOSA, EXODUS, WATCH THEM DIE, CRISIS, SIX FEET UNDER, SWORN ENEMY, THUMBSCREW, GREEN CARNATION, JOB FOR A COWBOY. The track "Disgrace" is a great example of how brutal this thrash/metalcore band can be.
Track 9 - Get Me OutHorny Frog - Reynosa, TA, MX
Without a doubt, this is one of the hardest working bands to hail out of Reynosa, TAMP, Mexico. Although based in Mexico, Horny Frog's brand of hard rock is aimed at the English speaking audiences. Having recieved radio airplay on local radio station, EXA, 102.5, Horny Frog has begun to captivate audiences on both sides of the border. The song "Get Me Out", has great vocal melodies, accompanied by catchy guitar riffs and solid drumming.
Track 10 - Omega DoomedAxe of Vengeance - Harlingen, TX
Since their conception in late 1999, Axe of V, has been building steady following one show at a time. Not being a band to settle with the typical death metal topics of Satan and hate, Axe of V, brings to the table, thought blogging topics countered with crushingly heavy music, definately not for the weak minded. "Omega Doomed" is just one of the many examples that sets this Harlingen, Tx four piece aside from the many local death metalers striving for the piece of acknowledgement........
Track 11 - No MoreSuperBullets - Weslaco, TX
Making a debut to the local rock scene enters the Superbullets. With the introduction to the scene, SB has been hard at work, arranging over a dozen of rock/hard rock songs in the hope to complete their recordings soon. With "No More", the band brings to listening audience a straight up heart felt lyrics mixed in the simplicity of great rock music. Time can only tell what lies ahead for the group.....
Track 12 - Zombie RapeImaginary Floating Vaginas - Donna/Weslaco, TX
Nearing the ending of the cd, IFV pulls out a fist up anthem for the punk masses. There is no question where this band is coming from. This band is true to their guns, bringing RGV punk at its best, to numerous crowds through the numerous shows they have played. Up the IFV social rejects!!!!!.
Track 13 - Threating Me?Destructive Cell - Mission, TX
The mere name of the song is enough to tell you what this band is about. Prue brutality, pure aggression. This is some scrotum draggin music. Turn it up all the way......
