LUNATIC PRODUCTIONS Interviews - Lower Rio Grande Valley Paranormal Society

LUNATIC: How did the LRGVPS come to be?

LRGVPS: We have been doing this for two (2) years. The group consists of myself Donna Ennis/Investigator - Kenneth Ennis/Tech. Manager - Rex Ennis/Investigator - Destiny Calzadias/Investigator - Zack Sanchez/Investigator in training. Kenneth and Rex are my son's, Destiny is my daughter-in-law, and Zack is my eldest grandson.

LUNATIC: Can you explain the differences of a haunting, a poltergist and a ghost?

LRGVPS: We only investigate haunting's and paranormal activity.
Poltergeist: is a non-human entity. They are usually more malicious and destructive. They can cause thumping, banging, levitating, moving objects, or throwing things.
A Ghost: is also known as an apparition. A ghost is believed to be the energy of a soul. When the living die the energy is released from the physical body. It is believed some pass on to a higher spiritual place, where others stay behind. Why they stay behind no one knows for sure. Theories are they have unfinished business, a wrongful or sudden death, or they are trapped within this realm for some reason, they are lost or afraid to move on or they are watching over someone. An apparition is the hardest to capture on photo's or video. This form requires the highest amount of energy possible to take shape. It is a rare and wonderful occurrence when an investigator capture and apparition on video or camera and especially to see one themselves.
A Haunting: is usually what is referred to either a residual haunting or the spirit is in visitation or grounded to that specific place. It is usually a specific place that is haunted and not a person.
A residual haunting is like rerunning a movie. It is when a spirit replays an event in its lifetime over and over.
In visitation: the spirit comes in now and then. like returning briefly to visit a favorite place or a place that had some meaning for them.
Being Grounded to a place: is what some believe that the spirit is staying at a specific place to protect someone, or it is a place they do not wish to leave or they are lost or afraid to move on.

LUNATIC: Do you see the Valley as an area with alot of paranormal activity or are people here locally sometimes reluctant to report such things?

LRGVPS: We believe that the Valley has a lot more activity then some realize. Unfortunately a lot of people do not wish to talk about it especially in public, for fear of people thinking they are strange. Also with all the history here in the Valley, we feel there is quite a bit of paranormal activity to investigate, and some that can be possible disproved. The only difference is that in other area's of the U.S. people are becoming more open about paranormal activity. They seek out the help to prove or disprove activity, or just seek answer's to what really may be happening in their home, or work place etc. Or simply just want documentation that what they are experiencing is real or not.

LUNATIC: What kind of equipment do you all use to document your investigations?

LRGVPS: Equipment we use are Digital recorders - these we use to capture EVP'S (Electronic Voice Phenomena). These are noises voice's etc. that are usually not heard until you play back the recording.
EMF Meter (Electro-Magnetic Field Meter), this tool detects the changes in the Electro-Magnetic fields. When an electrical source cannot be found for triggering this device, it is believed that their is paranormal activity.
Camcorders- We use mini dv and dvd and digital camera's: these are used to capture unusual movement, apparitions, or other thing that may not be seen by the human eye.
Infrared Thermometer: this is used to measure any change in temperature, such as cold or hot spots.
Infrared lighting: lighting at a level unseen by human eyes, but vi sable to camcorders, providing illumination during recording. This lighting assists in finding orbs, anomalies, apparitions and movement of items in complete darkness.
LED Flashlights, so we can see where we are going.

LUNATIC: Any stories or weird expierences that you can tell us of during your investigations?

LRGVPS: At a abandoned hotel we experienced items being thrown at us, load bangs, shadow figures, and even something touching us. In other hunts we have experienced a 20 degree drop in temperature for no reason, a pipe sticking up that was firmly embedded in the ground started moving, the loud shriek of a childs voice when performing EVP questioning(unheard durring the investigation revealed when reviewing evidence), watching a flag pole at a local cemetary sway back and forth when no wind present at all, and above all the hair standing at attention knowing something is watching us look for them.

LUNATIC: What do you charge for this, or how can someone with this sort of problem contact you all?

LRGVPS: We do not charge for our services, and will never request any payment for services provided; however, we do graciously accept donations of any kind to maintain equipment. We can only go out on an investigation as our schedules allow from our normal jobs. This is usually on Friday's and Saturday's. Anyone can contact us through our website at WWW.LRGVPS.COM contact page or contact us at 956-460-4576 or 956-789-5276.
