LUNATIC PRODUCTIONS Interviews - Confused

LUNATIC: Being that you guys are old fucks; I had to modified my first usual question. What did the name of the band "Confused" mean to you all when you first started back 2 decades ago, and what does it mean to the band now?

CONFUSED (Omar): Ok from what I remember back then, Al and myself were having personal issues that were pulling us from one end to the other. More over, we were more "CONFUSED" about life's situations and how to cope with them. Now to me, the name still holds truth. Situations in life bring us to a point that really fucks with our minds. Often leaving us with decissions that will alter our lives forever. So at times we are still literaly "CONFUSED".
CONFUSED (Al): Confused??? Well!! !@#$%^&* What the fuck was the question again? Oh yeah! We started this band so long ago, I don't remember anymore. But I do know that we all, and I mean all of us are "CONFUSED". WE ARE WHAT PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND! And thats no fucking lie. It means the same fucking thing it meant two decades ago. Nothing changes, just the people and the music. And the fact that I'm way past pubuerty now.

LUNATIC: Give us a quick discography of the band, and what is available on the internet as well as physically? (music wise ofcourse. I didn't mean anything body wise!)

CONFUSED (Al): When we 1st started, we had one, (demo), that was called "Slit Your Wrist", (1985), Still Confused 198??????, It's Goning to Kill You To 1989, Never Gonna Stop 2005,... You got to ask Omar. I know theres more.
CONFUSED (Omar):
CONFUSED (self titled) 1986
Confused demo omed desufnoc 1988
Confused Its gonna kill you too! 1989
Confused Still Confused 1994
Confused LIVE! All These Fucking Preps! 1995
Confused Acustic 1995

Confused Best of Confused Journy Through time 2001
Confused Never Gonna STOP! 2005

LUNATIC: After all these years; the band must have collected some funny stories? Anyone, or few that come to mind?

CONFUSED (Omar): Some of the olds ones are pretty fuzzy, since I was usually drunk at the shows. But a more recent one; I remember going to play at the White Rabbit, (San Antonio), back in 1999 and S Chappy and myself were pretty loaded on Mickies. Dressed in 70s clothes and wearing afros we went to the White Rabbit. We were freaking out people on the way down there jamming out to disco tunes. Then once we got there, other bands were freaking out at the 2 drunk hippies (us) that showed up. Im sure Al has some other stories...
CONFUSED (Al): Shit Yeah! I remember we where going to San Antonio, in 1989 to play at the Club Oasis, and we had to stop at the Border Patrol check point. They asked if we were American citizens, and we all said "yes". Our drummer had his green card by the gear shift, and they knew one of us was lieing, so they made us pull over and take every thing out of the car. He was getting bitched out by the cops, and almost then he almost started to cry. They were telling him if he wanted to go back to Mexico in the bus! We were pissed; we thought we we're going to miss the show. It took use forever to put the shit back in the car. That shit was funny. Theres a lot more but I just can't remember.

LUNATIC: Besides the old ones; tell us the deal about the last show you played; SpringFest; tell us about the lost opportunity of becoming the band of the week, for 94.5 the Q; and possibly being Ric Bartons friend -----> ahhhhhhhh.......

CONFUSED (Omar points):
1. the Q sucks
2. Ric only talked to Al.
3. Funny how they were there to supposively "Supporting the effort of the underground", but he only introduced 1 band then left soon after.
4. We have been band of the week about 2 years agos.
5. The underground will and has always been bigger than any radio staion down here. I applaud people's efforts to try and change a radio station into promoting local bands, but that will never happen. Especially when you see thier own disc jockies leaving early or not even participating in local events. When was the last time you've seen any of them at the VFW, THE RANCH, Art Awakenings or any other local venues/shows? Unless they are getting paid and or are there with the radio station van, you will not see them there.
CONFUSED (AL): The show kicked some fucking ass! Good crowd and a lot of good people showed up. Thanks for Molo, for letting us play the SpringFest show. As far as that dude , (Ric), from 94.5 the Queer; I have no beef with him. Its just that if you say you are here for the scene, then show up to all the shows to help the scene. I don't know the guy, but the station really isn't that good. Ric, if you read this, fight for the scene, instead of saying you're here for the scene. People will realize your efforts. But honestly, noone has really seen your ass around the local shows. Just that one quick stop at the SpringFest, doesn't count. Look dude, don't put a lot of bullshit in peoples heads. You wanna help? Then show up to the shows and give us some support! One thing that I know is that the valley has a shit load of fucking talented bands. So expose it! I rather go see an underground show , with bands that really care about the music, then to go see a mainstream poser show, that everyones into and fucking vomit.....

LUNATIC: Now that, thats off your chest let get on to other topics. Bridget the Midget is fast becoming the new "Adult Star" of Midget Porn. If one of your band members had an opportunity to film with her, which one would it be and why?

CONFUSED (Al): Omar! That guy would fuck what ever stands in his way. Find him a snake hole and he'll stick his little dick in it. Give him a blow up doll, and we won't see him for the rest of the week.
CONFUSED (Omar): Oh hell this is an easy one, it would be me (Omar). Why? Cuz I have no stipulations on women. I take them all, big, tall , short, skinny, fat. Bring it on! Im sure the others would agree :) Uh, Al; Ill return your "Just add air, Pamela Anderson doll", next week.

LUNATIC: What does the future hold for "Confused"?

CONFUSED (Al): I really don't know! But I would like to play a few more years, because it's a lot of fun. Plus the kidds are great! (Pinche Tony the Tiger!)
CONFUSED (Omar):Wheel chairs and walkers :) It's hard to say with the music industry. From one day to the next you're here then gone. Either way I have been able to keep it real with the local underground in the sense of a promoter. The music is in the blood; whether we play or help out, pa wise.. The reality is to give back to the scene that once helped you get to where you are. Some one helped us when we started so Im gonna do my part to help others. No radio station will ever do that around here.

LUNATIC: Any last shout outs, fucks, props, or anything you all might like to express before you go?

CONFUSED (Omar): YEA, thanks to all who have been keeping it real with the underground. ALEX and the guys from Lunaticpro.com, Rudy and the guys from IFV, Rowly, George, the guys from DISCARD THE DEAD, Marc Hardcore and the Malcontent Party, Punkyfly (BECKY) and EDDY, Molo, the former and new band members of Confused. With out any of these people, the scene would not be as strong as it is today! Thanks again for giving us (Confused) a chance. Without that chance, we'd still be playing in the damn garage like most bands are.
CONFUSED (Al): Yeah! I like to say to all the production companies that throw shows, keep it going!!! You guys are the ones that are keeping it real. Fuck the newspapers ASSHOLES! You know who you are you fuckheads! Alex, You know your my bitch! Much Love To Ya! And Thanks to all bands that play and I hope they never stop playing. Life is to short to stop doing what you love most, so keep it going. And last, the fans for keeping it alive; theres nothing better than to know that you always have friends and a place to hang out at. THANKS!
