LUNATIC PRODUCTIONS Interviews - Axe of Vengeance

LUNATIC:. Tell us what the name "Axe of Vengeance", first meant when you guys started, and what it means now to you all as you have continued throughout these 7 years?

AXE OF V: The name actually derived from a comic card, I have been a fan of comics and comic book characters since I was young, the original card said Acts of Vengeance I just switched the acts to axe.

LUNATIC: From the first demo, "Angels Blood", to the present demo, "Sleeper Cell", what has changed in A of V's music and what has stayed the same?

AXE OF V: Well, we have definitly progressed as musicians, and have always been about making good music. I have realized early on in the band that to me its not about being the fastest or slowest or whatever, its about making creative music that feels right to you.

LUNATIC: Speaking more on the new music, the title "Sleeper Cell", is a subject that the general public is not really aware of. With all the violence and terrorism that we hear about now a days, would you say Axe of V purposely touches subjects such as these to bring an awareness to their listeners?

AXE OF V: "Seeper Cell" is actually about babies being born outside the womb, according to vocalist Adrian Pizano who wrote the lyrics. Its kinda strange because when he had told me about the song I had just finished reading an article in "Popular Science" about that same subject, I thought to myself how creepy the whole idea was and that its possible in the future.

LUNATIC: What is the writing process like for Axe of V?

AXE OF V: Majority of the time it starts with Louie(guitar) creating the basic foundation of the song, then I (Franco drums) am the next to hear it, we tweak it out a bit, change some parts here and there, we all put are two cents in and voila! magic!

LUNATIC : Would Axe of V ever consider doing alive Music Fest for "Amigos del Valle" in the nude? (You all can wear socks over them privates, just so that you won't have the ladies attack, you Franco....?)

AXE OF V: Thanks but no thanks we'll leave that to the cool bands.

LUNATIC: In you alls personal opnion, what can the valley music scene as a whole, change to better our chances of getting recognized nationally?

AXE OF V: First, bands need to come together, and I mean real bands!, not bands who form to sound like someone else, look cool, get chicks, or any other dumb shit reason. Second, bands shouldn't close themselves in, example, Hardcore shows only, Death Metal shows only, Rock shows only, well you get the idea! To me thats the last thing this scene should be doing. Real shows, real promoters, real bands, with equality through out.

LUNATIC: What are the bands plans for the future?

AXE OF V: Future plans include, creating the best music we physically and mentally can, hopefully get signed, Infect the scene with our music.

LUNATIC: Last shout outs, fuck yous and thank yous?

AXE OF V: I wanna give a shot out to the few and the proud, Fuey Monster, Blobert Morechairs, Migs Chavez, Patti Rubio, Masochism, Panteon, Severence, Slowgrind, Cesspool, Sonia & Oscar. FUCK YOU to, promoters who don't respect us, posers, people who think they're better than us because they're from a bigger city. Thank you to Serge & the S.T.M.P crew, Ruben(Rigor Mortis), Promoters who are fair, and anyone who takes the time to check our shows out and read this enitre interview. Thank you
